The finished suite

Seven pieces. One print run.

Every piece below is the delivered artwork, not a mock-up of it.

No piece in this suite carries a guest name — every one reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

The palette

Three colours. One world.

Bone#EFECE6
Water#9BB0B4
Ink#2E2E2C

Not decoration — every one of these has a job, and they are the same inks the pieces below are printed in.

Production

How it was actually made.

Typeface

DM Sans, three weights. One family across the whole suite, by the brand’s own law.

Technique

Digital offset flat band on rigid bone board, with a blind-debossed split wordmark. Print files delivered as PDF/X-4.

What the direction refused

Four things that are not here.

A direction is as much what it turns down. This list was written when La Linea was chosen, and every piece below holds to it.

ONDINE invitation Sp. No. 01

Shared piece · ondine-invitation-card.html
A shared piece

The master object. The wordmark is split by the waterline — debossed above, printed below — and the evening is set below the surface at the foot: the date, the address, and a quieter line asking for a reply.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

no placeholders

Each guest's own code — live, and it scans. It is not printed on this delivered design; it belongs to the reply card and the badge.

ONDINE announcement and press card Sp. No. 02

Shared piece · ondine-announcement-card.html
A shared piece

For the press list. It carries nothing below the surface but the founding sentence itself — the sea in February, and the name of the thing it became.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Format148 × 105 mm

ONDINE RSVP card Sp. No. 03

Shared piece · ondine-rsvp-card.html
A shared piece

The driest card in the suite. It sits almost entirely above the line, because a reply is a small thing to ask and the system says so by giving it almost no water.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Format148 × 105 mm

ONDINE envelope exterior Sp. No. 04

Shared piece · ondine-envelope-exterior.html
A shared piece

The waterline continues across the envelope at the same height it holds on the card inside, so the object reads as dipped before it is ever opened.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

ONDINE bar and drink menu Sp. No. 05

Shared piece · ondine-bar-drink-menu.html
A shared piece

The deepest piece in the suite — it descends to −8 m. A tall format lets the column of water do the work a decorative border would otherwise be asked to do.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Format100 × 210 mm

ONDINE event programme Sp. No. 06

Shared piece · ondine-event-programme.html
A shared piece

The evening read as a deepening column: arrival at the surface, the first scenting below it, and the closing note at the bottom of the card.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

ONDINE welcome signage Sp. No. 07

Shared piece · ondine-welcome-signage.html
A shared piece

Stood at the end of the room’s reflecting pool with its waterline set at the pool’s true height. Designed from the start to be the photograph the launch is remembered by.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

The Living Invitation

The same card. And also a page.

At the guest's own link the platform renders ONDINE invitation — this file, not a separate digital version — and draws a reply panel into it. On the left, as it prints: the container is empty and collapses. On the right, as it opens.

As it prints
As it opens at their link

The panel is injected by the platform, not drawn by the design — which is why the delivered file declares only the empty container, and why the printed card carries no trace of it.

What that is worth on the day

The part you cannot see from a photograph

Print files, not templates

Each of the seven designs above becomes a personalised, print-ready file for every guest on the list — at the true trim size, with the backgrounds and the fonts the printer expects.

Only what should carry a name

No piece in this suite carries a guest name. It is delivered as it is, for the whole room, and this page does not pretend otherwise.

1:2

One code, two jobs

Each guest's own code opens their own page. The same code, read at the door, marks them arrived — so the host knows who is in the room without a clipboard.

The invitation is also a page

The same card, at the same guest’s link, with a reply panel drawn into it. Not a separate digital version in a different style — the design itself, continued. It is further down this page, in both of its states.
