A single stem carnation arranged by hand into a heart form — studio-clean, photographed on warm terracotta. The arch die-cut mirrors a garden gate. Every piece carries the same image, at diminishing intensity, so the invitation is the centrepiece and each subsequent piece a quiet echo. No illustration, no script font. Only a photograph, a name, and the weight of fifty years.

We only had to frame it."
§ 01 — The Concept
A Love Letter in Terracotta
"A carnation arranged into a heart. The name of the woman being celebrated, large and in italic. A garden gate in the shape of every piece. Nothing more."
This suite exists because fifty years is not a number — it is a depth. The materials should hold that. The palette derives from the garden at Le Mas des Roses: warm terracotta stone, cream render, the particular green of Provençal rosemary in July. Every design choice traces back to the physical place the celebration will inhabit.
The carnation is photographed on a terracotta ground. Its stems are arranged by hand into a heart form — not illustrative, not decorative, but photographic. Real and specific. The arch die-cut on every primary piece is the shape of the gate you pass through to reach the garden. The gradient that softens the image to cream is the quality of late-afternoon light in that latitude.
Direction B was chosen because the celebration called for warmth, not restraint. "Jardin de Lumière" — a garden of memory — where each piece carries the same botanical gesture at a different register. Full on the invitation, quieter on the menu, distilled to almost nothing on the place card. The invitation is the centrepiece. Everything else exists to serve it.

What We Protect
These constraints are rules, not preferences. Each one exists to protect the material integrity of the suite — its warmth, its botanical precision, its unity. None of these elements appear anywhere in the Jardin de Lumière suite.
