CENDRES

Direction Chosen

Pure typographic force. The identity operates entirely through letterform, weight, and an unapologetic bleed. No imagery. No decoration. No warmth except what lives in the palette — champagne against near-black, with a single thread of burnt amber. The design language of something singular.

What This Identity Is Not

Floral or botanical illustration
Perfume bottle photography
Gold foil on white — too expected
Gradient backgrounds of any kind
Script typefaces in primary hierarchy
Generic luxury event aesthetic

§ 03 — Colour Palette

Four Colours.
No Exceptions.

Cendre

#0A0A0A

Primary ground · The unlit room

Brûlé

#7B3F20

Structural rules · Amber thread · The burn

Velouté

#F2E4CC

Primary text · Titles · The first light

Cendres

Secondary text · Descriptors · Distance

Brûlé is reserved for structural accents only: horizontal rules, hairlines, amber thread, and the border rule below the headline. Never use as a fill or background.

Velouté is the only permitted colour for primary copy. Event information, headlines, and primary hierarchy must always render in Velouté at ≥80% opacity.

Cendres is secondary text — descriptors, captions, sub-labels. Maximum opacity 80%. Never use on parchment backgrounds — contrast is insufficient.

Cendre is the ground for all dark pieces. The parchment-based pieces (#F2E4CC) use the full Cendre palette in inversion — dark text on warm field, same four colours.

Construction Rule

The word bleeds because the fragrance itself exceeds containment. CENDRES is never centred, never reduced to fit, never justified. It announces and exits. The amber rule below it is the only punctuation this identity requires.

§ 06 — The Hidden Delight

The Hidden Watermark

Quarante-sept essais · Dordogne · 2021

Above: shown at legible opacity — in production it runs at 4–5%

The Origin

Forty-seven trials in Dordogne, 2021 — the private notation of a formula finally found. The number etched into the wax of every invitation as a ghost watermark. Almost invisible. Present for those who look.

The Delight

The watermark appears on all suite pieces as "XLVII · Dordogne 2021." On the dark pieces, in champagne at 4%. On the parchment pieces, in midnight at 3%. The number 47 does not appear anywhere else in the suite.
